Hello my name is Johnny Hensley. I have had the privilege of being an educator and coach for 25 years. In 1987, I graduated from Northeastern State University. Go Redmen! While at NSU, I recieved a Bachelor's of Science in Education after majoring in Elementary and Physical Education as well as minoring in Language Arts and Social Studies.
A few short years into my teaching career I was lucky enough to meet the love of my life, Rebecca Sue Spilman. It didn't take long for her to realize she couldn't live without me and we were married. We reside in the Peavine community where we have three beautiful children, Maegan, Sarah and Jonathan. My eldest daughter, Maegan, recently graduated from NSU and has a full time career. while my younger children Sarah and Jonathan, attend Westville High School where they are very active in sports and academic pursuits. We are a close-knit family enjoying time together as often as possible. My family and I are dedicated, active members at Baron Baptist Church.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of classes ranging from the 4th grade up to the 8th grade. I've found myself teaching subjects such as English, Science, Math, Geography and History. During this time, I have also enjoyed 20 years of coaching Junior High Girl's Athletics and two years of Junior High Boys Athletics . I currently teach and coach at Peavine School. where I, myself attended and graduated in 1975. I had the honor of being voted Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011. I feel blessed to have been a part of shaping the lives of so many young people.
